The force that through the green fuse drives the flower / Drives my green age; that blasts the roots of trees / Is my destroyer. / And I am dumb to tell the crooked rose / My youth is bent by the same wintry fever¡¦.by Dylan Thomas
Saudi Arabia's ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê deputy public prosecutor Shalaan Shalaan was ordered by the head of a "negotiations team" sent to Istanbul by the Saudi deputy intelligence chief to bring Khashoggi back to the kingdom "by means of persuasion" or, if that failed, "by force".
Investigators concluded that Khashoggi was forcibly restrained after a struggle and injected with a large amount of a drug, resulting in an overdose that led to his death, Mr Shalaan said. His body was then dismembered and handed over to a local "collaborator" outside the consulate, he added. The remains were not found.
At a news conference in Riyadh on Monday, Mr Shaalan said ³²ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«Ãßõ=³²ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«Ãßõ the public prosecution's investigations had shown that "there was no premeditation to kill at the beginning of the mission".
"The investigation showed that the killing was not premeditated... The killing was in the spur of the moment, when the head of the negotiating team inspected the premises of the consulate and realised that it was impossible to move the victim to a safe place to resume negotiations.
Ms Callamard dismissed as "utterly ridiculous" the assertion that the ³²ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=³²ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ® killing was not premeditated, noting that in one of the purported audio recordings from the consulate two Saudi officials were heard discussing how to cut up and transport Khashoggi's body just minutes before he entered the consulate.

Herndon¡¯s third album, Proto, saw her collaborating with vocal À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǻçÀÔ=À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǻçÀÔ performers and the digital voice of an AI program called Spawn. One of its most stunning and human moments came on Frontier. A court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced five people to death
and jailed three others over the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi last year.
Khashoggi, a prominent critic of the Saudi government, °æ»ê»çµ¿Á·¹ß was killed inside the kingdom's consulate in the Turkish city of Istanbul by a team of Saudi agents.
A UN expert said the trial represented È«Äá¸íǰ¼îÇθô=È«Äá¸íǰ¼îÇθô È«Äá¸íǰ È«Äá¸íǰ½Ã°è "the antithesis of justice".
"Bottom line: the hit-men are guilty, sentenced to death. The masterminds not only È÷µçÄɾî Á÷¼öÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å»=Çö´ëÅ¥¹Ö ´õ½½¸² È÷µçÄɾî Á÷¼öÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å» ½Ç¹ö¸®ºä walk free. They have barely been touched by the investigation and the trial," Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard wrote on Twitter.

The shadow cast by the grisly murder of Jamal Khashoggi has hung over Saudi Arabia's
international reputation for more ·¹Çø®Ä«¼îÇÎ=·¹Çø®Ä«±¸¸Å´ëÇà ·¹Çø®Ä«¼îÇÎ ·¹Çø®Ä«Ä¿½ºÅÒ±Þ than a year now. The ruling princes, ¿õÁøÄÚ¿þÀ̽÷çÁ÷¼öÁ¤¼ö±â=¿õÁøÄÚ¿þÀÌ Çѻ ½Ã·çÁ÷¼ö Á¤¼ö±â·»Å» / CP-8300R¹«·á especially the all-powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will be hoping Monday's verdicts draw a line under the whole affair. That may be wishful thinking.
The two most senior suspects - dubbed "the masterminds" - have walked free after a trial ÄíÄí Àξؾƿô 10s=ÄíÄí Àξؾƿô 10s ÀÚµ¿»ì±Õ ³Ã¿ÂÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å»ÈǸ¢ÇØ shrouded in secrecy. The reaction from the UK's foreign secretary has been a carefully-worded call for everyone to be held to account.
Agnes Callamard, the UN special rapporteur who investigated õ¾È¿ø·ë¸Å¸Å the murder, has been rather more explicit. The trial, she said, was "the antithesis of justice", and "a mockery".
And yet Saudi Arabia, with its vast oil wealth and allies in the White House, will doubtless be expecting that any outrage will soon give way to business as usual.

Residents are currently ¸íǰ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=¸íǰ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ® not allowed to return to the town, and an unknown number of homes have been destroyed.
No fatalities were reported in the town, but several firefighters were reportedly injured. More than 800 homes have ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê been destroyed in NSW since the fire season began.
Elsewhere, at least 86 houses were destroyed in the Adelaide Hills area of South Australia - where a 69-year-old man was found dead at his property on Saturday.
Officials said they were hoping to exploit cooler conditions over the coming days to try to contain the fires.

"Football is part of the fabric of British society - with the huge global audience that English football attracts, we have a responsibility to lead the way with a zero-tolerance policy."

"We take any such allegations extremely ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê seriously and shall take the strongest possible action against any individual found to be behaving in such a way, including stadium bans."

For now the extremists are confined to the shadows - emerging at night to carry out hit-and-run attacks. But Iraq has seen terror grow from these beginnings before, and some here fear a new threat is coming, for the region and the West.
According to Brigadier General William È«Äá¸íǰ·¹Çø®Ä«=È«Äá¸íǰ¹Ì·¯±Þ È«Äá¸íǰ·¹Çø®Ä« È«Äá¸íǰÀ̹ÌÅ×ÀÌ¼Ç Seely, Commander of Task Force-Iraq, these forces are better prepared than in 2014 when IS gained control of a third of Iraq and took Mosul, its second largest city, virtually unopposed.
"The ISF [Iraqi security forces] and the Çö´ëÅ¥¹Ö »ì±Õ ³Ã¿ÂÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å»=Çö´ëÅ¥¹Ö Å¥¹ÖS Ç÷¯½º »ì±Õ ³Ã¿ÂÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å» Ä«¿îÅÍÇüÃßõ Peshmerga are not the same forces as when Mosul fell," said Brig Gen Seely. "We have been here adding to their training. The ISF is keeping their foot on the pedal to ensure the momentum against Daesh [IS] remains steady."
He cites a single month, from mid-October to mid-November, in which the ISF carried out 170 "clearance operations" and destroyed almost 1,700 components for improvised explosive devices.
He says IS fighters are now hiding °æ»ê»çµ¿Á·¹ß out in caves and in the desert "in conditions that no one can handle for too long", and they can't move in large formations. "The largest I have seen in my six months here is 15, he says, adding that even one ISIS fighter is too many.

It was from this hilltop at Gwer that the Peshmerga launched their first offensive against IS in August 2014. The major general - and others here - say history is repeating itself.
Kurdish intelligence officials ³²ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«Ãßõ=³²ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«Ãßõ estimate that IS is 10,000 strong in Iraq with between 4,000 and 5,000 fighters, and a similar number of sleeper cells and sympathisers.
The international community should ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê be worried, according to Lahur Talabany. "The more comfortable they get here," he says, "there more they will think about operations outside of Iraq and Syria."

The Professional Footballers' Association has called for a government inquiry into racism in football after Chelsea's Premier League win at Tottenham was marred by alleged racist behaviour from the crowd.

The PFA said: "We are disgusted and dismayed that once again, a Premier League fixture has been tainted by abuse from the stands towards players.

"The PFA stands beside every player who faces discrimination. We will continue to fight on their behalf to combat this issue for good.
