With a wealth of first-hand testimony, Democrats have moved the impeachment on from the whistleblower's evidence. But the È«Äá¸íÇ°¿©¼ºÁö°©=È«Äá¸íÇ°¿©¼ºÁö°© È«Äá¸íÇ°³²¼º½Å¹ß È«Äá¸íÇ°¿©¼º½Å¹ß
president and other Republicans have worked to keep the whistleblower in the press.

In an audio recording that emerged in September, President Trump was heard comparing the whistleblower's sources to a "spy". Then in an apparent reference to the execution of spies by the US in the past, he said: "You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart? Right? With spies and treason, right? We ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®
used to handle them a little differently than we do now."

According to reports in the Washington Post and the Guardian, the person named by right wing media as the whistleblower was receiving a spike in threats when the president tweeted about them, and was being driven to and from È«Äá¸íÇ°°¡¹æ=È«Äá¸íÇ°¿©¼º½Ã°è È«Äá¸íÇ°°¡¹æ È«Äá¸íÇ°Áö°©
work by armed security officers following the threats.

How did the whistleblower become involved?
In August, the whistleblower filed a report expressing concern over a phone call a month earlier in which Mr Trump asked his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden, a Democratic front-runner for the 2020 õ¾È¿ø·ë
US presidential election.

Democrats said the call transcript showed President Trump abusing the power of his office to pressure President Zelensky to damage a US Democratic political rival. President Trump defended the call, saying it was "perfect". He has dismissed the impeachment process as a "witch-hunt".

An ominous warning ahead of a big year
Analysis by Andrew Harding, Africa correspondent

This attack is another stark À̹ÌÅ×À̼Ƿ¹Çø®Ä«=À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǰ¡¹æ À̹ÌÅ×À̼ÇÁö°© À̹ÌÅ×À̼Ƿ¹Çø®Ä«
reminder of how difficult it is to protect a city as large as Mogadishu against a determined militant group - al-Shabab - which has no qualms about attacking overtly civilian targets. It will also underline and fuel longstanding concerns that al-Shabab has infiltrated elements within the Somali state and its security forces, enabling it to keep conducting this kind of operation in the capital.

Despite losing territory to African Union (AU) and Somali government forces in recent years, al-Shabab has proved to be a ¹ß·»½Ã¾Æ°¡=¹ß·»½Ã¾Æ°¡¿©¼ºÀÇ·ù
remarkably resilient organisation. It has been able to exploit the fragility of Somalia's fledgling government institutions and the centrifugal regional and clan interests, which continue to undermine the country's security and unity.

Today's bloodshed carries with it an ¿©ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=¿©ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®
ominous warning for the year ahead, which is due to see Somalia hold crucial, but potentially destabilising, one-person one-vote elections for the first time in decades. In addition, there is enduring concern about the fate of Amisom - the 20,000-strong AU army that plays such a central role in the country's security, and which is in theory scheduled to begin winding down, to be replaced by Somalia's °æ»ê»çµ¿Á·¹ß
new national army.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas felt Pellegrini paid the price for failure to get consistent performances out of the club's big-money signings.

Jenas said on Match of the Day: "Of the seven ³²ÀÚ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=³²ÀÚ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®
changes Pellegrini made [against Leicester], there were four players who cost a lot of money - Sebastien Haller ¡Ì45m, Felipe Anderson ¡Ì36m, Pablo Fornals ¡Ì24m and Issa Diop ¡Ì22m - they have not had the returns from them.

"The money has been invested, all these four players started today but it was more of the same from West Ham.

"I think West Ham fans will be happy the decision has Çö´ëÅ¥¹Ö »ì±Õ ³Ã¿ÂÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å»=Çö´ëÅ¥¹Ö Å¥¹ÖS Ç÷¯½º »ì±Õ ³Ã¿ÂÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å» Ä«¿îÅÍÇüÃßõ
been made but worried about what they are going to do now.

"I think they will revert back to something like David Moyes and he did a good job there. If that will keep the West Ham fans happy, I'm not sure."

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy added: "The body language wasn't great, there is plenty of ability in the squad, no doubt.

"But the performance I saw was of È«Äá¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«=È«Äá¸íÇ°¹Ì·¯±Þ È«Äá¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä« È«Äá¸íÇ°À̹ÌÅ×À̼Ç
a group of players that wasn't playing for the manager.

"I think if you're going to go backwards and go with someone you've used before and you can trust it would be Big Sam for me.

"If you want them to stay up and looking short term, he's done it."

Former West Ham keeper Rob õ¾È¿ø·ë
Green told BBC Radio 5 Live he was not surprised by Pellegrini's departure.

On 7 July 2013, Andy Murray ended Great Britain's 77-year wait for a Wimbledon men's singles champion. In the latest in a series ·¹Çø®Ä«¹Ì·¯±Þ=·¹Çø®Ä«¹Ì·¯±Þ ·¹Çø®Ä«·¹Çø®Ä« ·¹Çø®Ä«·¹Çø®Ä«
recalling some of the greatest sporting moments of the decade, former BBC tennis correspondent Jonathan Overend, who was commentating on the winning moment, describes what it was like to be there.

When I look back at that men's singles final between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, the top two seeds, my mind races, helplessly stuck ·¹Çø®Ä« ·¹Çø®Ä«½Ã°è ·¹Çø®Ä«¹Ì·¯±Þ=·¹Çø®Ä« ·¹Çø®Ä«½Ã°è ·¹Çø®Ä«¹Ì·¯±Þ
on fast forward.

It races through the build-up, the walk-ons and the knock-up. Fast forward.

It dashes through the first game (Murray the first three points), the first set (Murray 6-4) and the second set (Murray 7-5, from 4-1 down). Fast forward.

It even swiftly spins through the ¿©ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®=¿©ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«»çÀÌÆ®
third set with Murray again recovering from a break down to sensationally conjure a 5-4 lead. And pause.

Andy Murray, 26, from Dunblane in Scotland, was about to serve for the Wimbledon title after almost three hours on centre court and I think it hit us all.

"It" hit us. That very unique sporting ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê
sensation. You've felt it, right? The abstract sense of the imminent unknown. "It" had most definitely arrived.

What on earth was about to happen?

The noise at the changeover was incredible. Words can't do justice to noise at great sporting venues, you need to hear it, you need to feel it. This, from the Centre Court Chorus, was a cacophony of support, elation and fear.

Pellegrini leaves after 18 months in charge, having been appointed in May 2018 on a three-year deal, and was told about À§ºí·Î=À§ºí·Î¿©¼ºÀÇ·ù
his departure shortly after conducting post-match interviews.

West Ham made the announcement within two hours of losing to Leicester.

Moyes, who took È«Äá¸íÇ°³²¼ºÀÇ·ù=È«Äá¸íÇ°µµ¸Å È«Äá¸íÇ°³²¼ºÀÇ·ù È«Äá¸íÇ°¿©¼ºÀÇ·ù
charge of West Ham for six months between November 2017 and May 2018, is one of the favourites to replace Pellegrini, although no deal has been finalised.

In his last spell at the club, Moyes took ûȣ³ªÀ̽º ÀÌ°ú¼ö TIDY=ûȣ³ªÀ̽º ÀÌ°ú¼ö TIDY ÀϹÝÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å»Ãßõ
over from Slaven Bilic with West Ham in the relegation zone and helped them secure safety with two games to spare, eventually finishing 13th in the Premier League.

He spent 11 years in charge of Everton before taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in 2013, lasting 11 months ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê
in the job. Spells at Real Sociedad and Sunderland followed.

Asked after the game whether he was the right man to guide the Hammers out of trouble, Pellegrini said: "Of course. I am confident. I have a lot of experience of being in this position.

"When you don't get the result people talk about you being sacked. For me I only worry about managing games."

West Ham entertain Bournemouth on New Year's Day (17:30 GMT) but the club are yet to announce who will take charge for the game.

Three witnesses told Reuters the blast had taken place next to a small group of Turkish engineers who were ·¹Çø®Ä«½Å¹ß=·¹Çø®Ä«½Å¹ß
constructing a road.

Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad tweeted that two of the Turkish engineers died.

Many of the dead were "students ¿©ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«=¿©ÀÚ·¹Çø®Ä«
with ambition, and hardworking men and women", he wrote.

Turkey has been a major donor to Somalia since a famine in 2011.

President Mohamed Abdullahi ¸íÇ°ÀÇ·ù·¹Çø®Ä«=¸íÇ°ÀÇ·ù·¹Çø®Ä«
Farmaajo condemned the attack.

"This enemy works to implement the destructive will of international terrorism, they have never done anything positive for this our country, they have not constructed a road, never built hospitals and not education centres as well," he was quoted as saying by the Somalia national news agency Sonna.

"All they do is destruction and killing õ¾È¿ø·ë
and the Somali public are well informed about this."

Five people were killed earlier this month when al-Shabab attacked a Mogadishu hotel popular with politicians, diplomats and military officers.

'Fans are coming to the game not wanting to come'
Hammers midfielder ³²ÀÚ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«=³²ÀÚ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«
Declan Rice, who captained the team against Leicester, blamed a lack of confidence for the team's slide from fifth in the table at the end of September to the cusp of the bottom three.

"People were talking about us being top-six ·¹Çø®Ä«=·¹Çø®Ä«
contenders and now we're so far away," said the 20-year-old.

"Fans are coming to the game pretty much not wanting to come. We need to pick up fast."

Pellegrini led them to 10th last season but becomes the sixth Premier League manager to lose his job this campaign.

As well as their poor form in ·çÀ̺ñÅë³²ÀÚÁö°©=·çÀ̺ñÅë³²ÀÚÁö°©
the league, West Ham were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League One side Oxford United, losing 4-0 in September.

West Ham won 24 of their 64 matches under the Chilean, losing 29.

The Hammers have broken their transfer record twice under Pellegrini, paying ¡Ì36m for Brazil winger Felipe Anderson in 2018 before a ¡Ì45m °æ»ê»çµ¿Á·¹ß
deal for French striker Sebastien Haller in July as part of a ¡Ì71m summer spend.

They have spent ¡Ì155m while the former Manchester City boss has been in charge.

US President Donald Trump is facing staunch criticism for retweeting a post that included the alleged name of the whistlebower ¾Ë·º»ê´õ¸ÆÄý=¾Ë·º»ê´õ¸ÆÄý¿©¼ºÀÇ·ù
whose complaint led to the president's impeachment.

Mr Trump shared a post from a user named @surfermom77, who described themselves as a "100% Trump supporter".

The retweet was later removed from ¸íÇ°À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǽŹß=À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǿ©¼º½Å¹ß À̹ÌÅ×À̼dz²¼º½Ã°è À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǿ©¼º½Ã°è
the president's Twitter timeline but could still be found via a direct link.

Mr Trump has repeatedly called for the whistleblower to be identified.

The US has federal laws that guarantee the ³²ÀÚ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«=³²ÀÚ¸íÇ°·¹Çø®Ä«
protection of whistleblowers, designed to shield those who come forward with evidence of wrongdoing by the government.

In November, lawyers for the whistleblower - who is said to work in the US intelligence community - issued a cease-and-desist warning to the president, saying their client was "in physical danger". But the president ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê
ignored the warning and continued to call for them to be named.

Previous posts by @surfermom77 - the Twitter user retweeted by President Trump - include anti-Islam content and posts spreading the false conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama was a Muslim.

According to a report by the Associated Press, the account bears the hallmarks of an automated "bot" account, "including an unusually high amount of activity and profile pictures featuring stock images from the internet".

The number of mass killings in the US had risen despite the overall number of homicides going down, said James Densley, a º£Æ®¸Û=º£Æ®¸Û¿©¼ºÀÇ·ù
criminologist and professor at Metropolitan State University in Minnesota.

"As a percentage of homicides, these mass killings are also accounting for more deaths," he told AP.

Prof Densley said he believed the spike was partly a consequence of an "angry and frustrated time" in US society, but he added that ¸íÇ°À̹ÌÅ×À̼ÇÄ¿½ºÅÒ±Þ=À̹ÌÅ×À̼ǼîÇÎ À̹ÌÅ×À̼ÇÄ¿½ºÅÒ±Þ À̹ÌÅ×À̼ÇÀÏ´ëÀÏ
crimes tended to occur in waves.

"This seems to be the age of mass shootings," he said.

Gun ownership rights are enshrined in the second amendment of the US constitution, and the spike in mass shootings has done ¸íÇ°ÀÇ·ù·¹Çø®Ä«=¸íÇ°ÀÇ·ù·¹Çø®Ä«
little to push US lawmakers towards gun control reforms.

In August, following deadly attacks in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, President Donald Trump said "serious discussions" would take place between õ¾È¿ø·ë
congressional leaders on "meaningful" background checks for gun owners.

But Mr Trump quietly rowed back on that pledge, reportedly after a long phonecall with Wayne LaPierre, the chief executive of the National Rifle Association - a powerful lobby group which opposes gun control measures.

Speaking to reporters after the call, the president said the US had "very strong background checks right now", adding that mass shootings were a "mental problem".

At least 76 people have been killed by a vehicle bomb detonated during morning rush hour in Somalia's capital.

The blast took place at ·¹Çø®Ä«½Ã°è=·¹Çø®Ä«½Ã°è
a checkpoint at a busy intersection in Mogadishu. More than 90 people were also injured.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bomb but al-Shabab militants have often carried out attacks there.

President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo »ì±ÕÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å»=ûȣ³ªÀ̽º »ì±Õ ³ÃÁ¤¼ö±â·»Å» ¼¼´ÏŸ Ƽź¸®ºä
said its aim was to demoralise the Somali people, but that jihadists would never stop the country rebuilding.

Al-Shabab - a group of Islamist militants, allied to Al-Qaeda - has waged an insurgency for more than 10 years. It was forced out È«Äá¹Ì·¯±Þ=È«Äá¹Ì·¯±Þ
of the capital in 2011 but still controls areas of the country.

Witnesses described carnage at the scene.

"All I could see was scattered dead bodies ... amid the blast and some of them burned beyond recognition," said Sakariye ÀÌÅ¿øºÎµ¿»ê
Abdukadir, who was close to the blast.

"May Allah have mercy on the victims of this barbaric attack," the former internal security minister added.

At least 16 of the victims are students from Banadir University who were travelling on a bus that was struck by the vehicle bomb, AFP report.

"This was a black day," university chairman Mohamed Mohamud Hassan said, according to AFP. "It was a day when parents who have sent their children to learn were sent back the dead bodies of their children."
